How to make a claim

If you have been unfortunate enough to have to make a claim, we know that the next time you need to buy insurance, you will judge Your Cover by how helpful, efficient and fair we were in dealing with it. If you need to make a claim under Your Cover Car insurance, simply call our Claims Department on: 0844 893 9606.

Claims Representatives are available to help you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your claim will be dealt with over the phone, and you will not need to complete a claims form.

We will provide you with a named claims handler who will manage the claim on your behalf, these claims handlers work in small teams of 3 or 4 so, if at any point your handler is temporarily unavailable due to holiday, sickness or being on another call, another team member will already be familiar with your case and be able to help you.

The information we will ask for when you call us to claim  

Our first concern is for your safety so it is important that before ringing us, you take steps to ensure (as much as possible) that you and your passengers are taken out of any potentially dangerous situations.

Please try to have the following information ready so we can deal with your claim for you as quickly as possible:

  • Your policy number and car registration number
  • The name and address of the person driving your car
  • The registration number of any other vehicle involved
  • The name, address and insurance details of the other driver involved
  • The name and address of any witness or witnesses
What happens when I make a claim?  

When you call us we will record the details of your claim and discuss with you the best way to get your claim resolved. Where appropriate, we will put you in touch with one of our Approved Repairers. By using an Approved Repairer you will be provided with a free courtesy car whilst the repair work is being carried out and the work will be guaranteed for at least 5 years.

We will keep you informed, proactively, through your named claims handler, on the progress of your claim, as well as managing any third parties involved so that we can settle the claim as quickly and as fairly as possible.

If you gave us your mobile number at the point you took out your policy, we will endeavour to send you a number of texts containing all the relevant numbers you might need so you can save them directly to your phone.
