What’s included and what’s not	Foreign travel cover gives you comprehensive car insurance for up to 90 days of driving in the EU, with all the features you have included in your policy for your normal, day-to-day UK driving. In addition, we will pay any customs duty if your car is damaged and we cannot return it to Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands following a claim covered under this policy. If you include this element we will extend the standard cover for you and anyone else entitled by your current Certificate of Motor insurance to drive the car, for up to 90 days during the period of your insurance. You can also further extend this policy by adding the Roof box & trailer insurance and Car contents insurance options to your policy.

In addition to being able to enjoy your trip with this security behind you, the following tips will help you enjoy relaxing and trouble-free motoring when travelling across Europe: Before leaving, take the time to familiarise yourself with the driving laws of the countries you will be travelling in, and print off a summary of speed limits and other basics for each country - you may find the Drive Alive website useful in this respect Check the local rules regarding safety equipment for your car e.g. most countries require you to carry a warning triangle, a reflective jacket, first aid kit and spare bulbs You should have a GB sticker on the back of your car if your number plate doesn’t contain this information and make sure you have all useful paperwork including your driving licence and insurance documentation Have your vehicle, plus any trailer you may be towing, properly serviced before you leave home.
