Car insurance - Core cover

What is included as standard in a Your Cover Car insurance policy?

Our Core cover provides a solid, great value base for your Car insurance policy. If you decide to purchase our Core Car insurance, you can be confident that you are fully insured under the law and can enjoy the benefits below. Online policy documents

Your policy documents - including your certificate of motor insurance - will be available online via a secure personal 'Your documents' account, which means your paperwork can be accessed from any internet-enabled computer at any time.

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to receive paper documents, these can be purchased by adding the option to your basket

Courtesy car and damage to your vehicle  

Your car is covered in the event of damage, malicious damage or fire. We will provide a Class A car (small hatchback size) if your car can be repaired, by an Allianz approved repairer - for the duration of the repairs to your car - following an insured accident.

A hire car will not be provided if your car is stolen or written off but you can insure against this with our Car hire option. If your car is assessed as being beyond economical repair (total loss), you may retain the courtesy car for a period of four days from the date that your car is declared a total loss.

Accident recovery  

We provide roadside assistance, which guarantees the following after an accident:

  • We will pay the cost of protecting your car and removing it to the nearest repairer.
  • We will transport up to six people to your home or your intended destination.
  • We will pay the cost of delivering your car back to your home (in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man) once it has been repaired.

Replacement locks and keys  

If the keys, transmitter or immobiliser key for your car are lost or stolen, we will pay the cost of changing the locks, as long as you report the loss to the police within 24 hours of discovering it. If you make a claim that is solely for replacement of locks, you will not be required to pay an excess.

Liability to others  

We provide the minimum Liability cover required to comply with the relevant UK and EU traffic laws when using your car in the UK and Europe. If you wish to cover damage to your car whilst it is abroad, you must purchase the Foreign travel option.
